Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest (1988) – Video Game Review

A classic game that time has not forgotten!

Ok, so when it comes to video games, there are a ton of really great games out there… Some that are really well remembered by those who played them… Some that are not so well remembered, or even well liked… But there are very few out there that are are remembered permanently.

These games that are always well remembered are something special! Besides the obvious finanical and popularity factors for the companies that make these games. These games are usually loved by the legions of fans that started playing them from their beginning… And are still attracting people even today! Super Mario Bros. is one of these games. Sonic The Hedgehog is another… And Castlevania is one as well!

And Castlevania 2: Simon’s Quest (1988) is one of those games that you will never forget!

The graphics may seem pretty weak by today’s standards… But in 1988 this was AWESOME!

Originally released in 1987 in Japan for the the Japanese version of, ‘Nintendo’, ‘The Famicom’ by Konami.  This game told the story of how as the original character, ‘Simon Belmont’, Simon has to go on a quest to find the 5 parts of Dracula’s body in an effort to bring them to his castle to end the curse that Dracula put on him at the end of the previous quest!

Now I am going to be honest with you guys, the last time I played this game was probably 1990…  So I can’t really attest to the game play itself… But I can say this, this game is a total blast… As a matter of fact I would almost say that it is better then the first Castlevania… Which is really hard to compete with because the first one was quite good!

If you haven’t tried this series before… I would say for purely story reasons do the first one… But this game is worth keeping up with the franchise.  So try it! You might like it!
