Corey Feldman Actor And Musician… But Is That A Good Thing?

Ok, so there are some actors that have done pretty well making the transtion to also doing music, and some musicians have done a great job transfering to acting… But Corey Feldman (The Lost Boys). I am not entirely sure just yet…

What I mean by this is that where as it is true that I really enjoy Corey Feldman and the work that he has done over the decades and his efforts to really make horror a great genre… A couple of examples obviously, The Lost Boys (1987), Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter (1985), Bordello Of Blood (1995) and so much more!

But where as I have heard some of his work as a musician… I like it… But I don’t know if I love it yet… And I will tell you why.

1. Corey Feldman always kind of strikes me as really being trapped between about 1989 and 1995… I suppose that was the last time he was a major A list celeb, and not doing awesome b horror movies… But he does strike me as being stuck in there to the point where even in the song, ‘Ascenion Millennium’ he dresses up like Michael Jackson did, and I saw him do that once or twice back in the early 1990s… I think he even dressed like that in a movie he did back then!

2. It is is really hard to get past the fact that he sounds like when he is singing some of the more vocal songs like he does when he is screaming in fear in the movies… And it is just a little weird.

3. And then finally the composition of his music really is brilliantly reminiscient of heavy metal (At least from what I have heard,) that came out in the late 80s – early 90s. And where as it was cool for then, and I enjoy it now, almost everybody I have listened to now seems to re-create it like those old… (Listen to the sounds of the 70s cassette tape ads from the late 80s!) And unfortunately some of his music sounds like to me to.

So in the end… I don’t know, I like it, but I don’t know if I love it yet. Why not take a listen for yourself and let me know what you think?
