Deadpool (2016) – Movie Review
So I want to say that this started with Iron Man (2008), but it really started with the almost shocking success of the movie X-Men (2000)… Live action movies that are based on comic book heroes have become almost a genre unto itself… And have produced some truly great movies!
The Christopher Nolan ‘Dark Knight’ series is a great example of this, and another great example of this is the MCU and it’s sort of affiliated, ‘Fox’ Marvel series!
And there is one that came out recently that I really enjoyed that I thought that I would report on here… That being: Deadpool (2016)!
Written by: Rhett Reese (Life), Paul Wernick (Zombieland) & Directed by: Tim Miller (Rockfish). Starring: Ryan Reynolds (The Amityville Horror), Morena Baccarin (Gotham) & T.J. Miller (Cloverfield).
“Now, I’m about to do to you what Limp Bizkit did to music in the late 90s.” – A quote from the movie, Deadpool (2016).
This some times action packed, and some times hilarious tale, tells the story of a dying man who goes to a clinic in the hopes of being cured and given super powers… What he ends up getting is cured, and super powers as well a look that is horrifying… And so becomes a wise cracking mercenary, in an effort to hunt down the people who did the experiments and get his revenge!
Now in truth… This movie is awesome… There is just one question that I always had that I never really felt was really answered in this movie… And that is how it relates to the overall Fox MCU… I mean according to X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)… Deadpool should have been dead in roughly the late 70s to mid 80s… So how is he around in the modern day?
Ultimately though… Despite the massive plot holes… This movie is just an awesome shootem up… And is well worth your time… It was for me, and I definitely think it could be for you as well!
