Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash #1 (2007) – Comic Book Review

A shit start to what should prove to be a solid series!

A shit start to what should prove to be a solid series!

In movies there has always been a common idea that a lot of people have played with and have thought that it could be a truly a lot of fun… That is the idea of a, ‘crossover’ amongst the various franchises… They have already did it with, ‘Freddy Vs. Jason’ in 2006… But over the years ideas have come up with, ‘Freddy Vs. Michael Myers’, ‘Jason Vs. Michael’, etc… To the real extreme of basically every major horror movie villain of the past almost 40 years vs. each other!

Now I have always found this idea to be as fascinating as every other horror fan… Maybe not so much the idea of everyone else vs. everyone else… I think that is kind of dumb, but crossovers amongst some of the cooler villains… Why not, you know what I am saying… And although I still think it is a good idea, I think this beginning of the series for, ‘Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash’ is kind of a shit way to start what I feel like is going to be a good series!

Meh, to this issue, I suspect the next issues will be better though!

You see this comic, which was written by: James Kuhoric and Jason Katz, and was inked by Jason Craig, J. Scott Campbell & Eric Powell, is a great story of what happened after the events of the cross over movie, and how Freddy is trying to get free again, while Jason has started to terrorize what used to be called, ‘Crystal Lake’,  and what for some reason is being called, ‘Forrest Green’ again (If this was to have any canon in it, then the writers should have known that the name change took place roughly 20 or so years before this story is supposed to take place.)

It also talks about what happens to bring, ‘Ash’ from the, ‘Evil Dead’ series to fight them…

The way this comic was done, I have a feeling this story is going to get better… But I feel like these people who did this story haven’t really taken to doing their research on all 3 series well enough… And as odd as it may seem, the art work seems to get better, the closer to the end of the story you get.

I suspect this is going to be a good one to get in to if for a good series… But I if am wrong, I do apologize… I will be reading along with you guys on this one I imagine!
