Justice League Of America: Vol 2: #0 (2006) – Comic Book Review

A comic I am sure is going to be pretty awesome!

Ok, I have to admit, that even as an adult in my 30s, I still love comic books very much, I am a fan of both of the primary comic publishers (DC and Marvel), and the works that they produce (for the record though, I am a huge fan of indie stuff to…)

So I have to say though that I keep the two universe (The DC and Marvel universes) in to high standing… I mean the people who do keep these universes going have a lot of history to live up to, and it is frustrating as hell when some moron over at DC or Marvel hire some one who literally has no idea what to do with the franchises that they have been hired to helm… Or have no real affinity for the characters!

That is why I have been some what disappointed with DC as of late (what with some of the decision that have been undertaken to butcher the various franchises!)

And that is why I do have to say that I am not a huge fan of the first issue of Justice League Of America…

A sub par beginning, hopefully that will change!

Don’t get me wrong, the story was well inked and the basic idea that they did for the issue was pretty sound… The problem is though, is that, doing that type of story has to be pretty hard to do in comic book form.

You see, the story is seen largely through flashbacks, basically about how Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman break up the team, and how they get back together…

Like I said, this type of story has got to be pretty hard to do in the written form… But it just wasn’t something I was interested in… I also don’t like the push towards the more retro Batman costume that was worn by Adam West’s Batman, that has been from time to time seen in some of the animated shows and now in the comics it appears…

So I don’t recommend this comic… But if you are going to dive in to the series… Well what the hell…
