Enjoying Horror & Science Fiction At It’s Best!

Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) – Sci-Fi Movie Review

A great addition to an exceptional franchise!

So there are many different independent movie franchises in the MCU, ‘Captain America’, ‘Thor’ and even, ‘Black Panther’… They have all done a great job in bringing something new to the table… But there is one little plucky upstart who has now had two movies, and both of them have been pretty bad-ass!

That movie of course being the Ant-Man series… Both movies are absolutely hilarious… While also having a great elements of action, science fiction and even a bit of drama… And the latest Ant-Man movie… Ant-Man And The Wasp (2018) is all of that, and so much more!

Written by: Chris McKenna (Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle), Erik Sommers (The Lego Batman Movie), Paul Rudd (Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers), Andrew Barrer (Haunt), Gabriel Ferrari (Arachnaphobia) & Directed by: Peyton Reed (Bring It On). Starring: Paull Rudd, Evangeline Lilly (Reel Steele), Michael Peña (End Of Watch), Walton Goggins (Predators), Hannah John-Kamen (Ready Player One), Michelle Pfeiffer (Batman Returns), Michael Douglas (The Game) & Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix).

“Also, make sure you stay out of the tardigrade fields. They’re cute but they’ll eat you.“ – Janet Van Dyne (A quote by Michelle Pfeiffer from the move, Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018).)

Ok in this movie, we find out that thanks to Scott Lang (Played by: Paul Rudd) going off to go help Captain America in Germany, that Scott is under house arrest and Hope (Played by: Evangeline Lilly) and her father, Doctor Henry Pym (Played by Michael Douglas) are on the run… Basically Ant-Man and the team have broken up.

But when Scott has a dream about the quantum dimension, and Janet Van Dyne (Played by: Michelle Pfeiffer) playing hide-and-go-seek with Hope, when Hope is still a child!

When Scott gets in contact with Hank and Hope, it turns out that they are trying to get in to contact with Janet in the Quantum Universe… And that it might be all connected!

And when they reconnect, the fun really begins! You see, a woman by the name of, ‘ Ava’, a woman who is losing molecular cohesion (her cells are literally tearing themself apart all the time… Has along with the help of an anonymous backer is trying to steal Pym’s work (and the building that his lab is in,) to help herself get back to the real world!

And don’t forget about illegal tech dealers that also want to steal Pym’s lab to sell to the highest bidder… And then you add a go getter FBI Agent that is trying to catch Scott in the act of escaping his confinement… And it is fun had by all!

Now this movie is a total blast! I think after the success of the first Ant-Man movie, that Marvel decided to go back to the successful formula of making a smaller, but still very amusing film! And you know what it still works! Ant-Man and the Wasp has done it… And you know what? This movie is just as good as the first one… I really have no complaint!

If you haven’t checked this one out, I highly recommend doing so! It is an awesome film!
