So there have been a ton of great horror movie franchises that have come out over the decades… Some of them have been incredibly famous, such franchises as: ‘Halloween’ & ‘Friday The 13th’… But then there has been some lesser known franchises, but ones that are still cool, such as: ‘The Hills Have Eyes’ & ‘Final Destination’!
And for me, out of the lesser known franchises, Final Destination is one of those franchises that is probably one of my favorites… Because with honesty… I do enjoy slasher films… But there is something about an unseen force trying to take out unsuspecting teens that are also awesome to!
And well, where as the original movie was truly awesome, the sequel is great… But not quite as… Final Destination 2 (2003).
Written by: J. Mackye Gruber (The Butterfly Effect), Eric Bress (Kyle X/Y) & Directed by: David R. Ellis (Cellular). Starring: Ali Larter (Resident Evil: Afterlife), A.J. Cook (Tru Calling), Michael Landes (Lakeview Terrace) & Tony Todd (Candyman).
“Tomorrow marks the one-year anniversary since Velez Air Flight 180 exploded and crashed shortly after takeoff from JFK airport. It’s a disaster that’s affected many. None more so than Mt. Abraham High School, which lost 40 students and 4 faculty members in the crash. But it was the events after the crash that has turned this tragic story into something even stranger. The survivors that managed to get off the plane before it crashed died soon thereafter in a series of mysterious and bizarre accidents. Now to some, these deaths are just tragic coincidences, but to others, they’re an indication that there are more sinister events taking place. That’s the contention of tonight’s guest. Thank you for joining us this evening.” – Host (A quote from the movie: Final Destination 2 (2003).)
So after the events of Final Destination (2000)… Alex Browning (Played by: Devon Sawa), has died… Death has finally gotten to him and he died when a brick accidentally hit him. Clear Rivers (Played by: Ali Larter)… She has checked herself in to an insane asylum…
And on the one year anniversary of the plane crash… Death has a new plan… A massive freeway car pile up that is connected to the last of the deaths from the plane crash that previous year.
But when Kimberly Corman (Played by: A.J. Cook) has the same premonition that Alex had the previous year… She is able to save herself and a bunch of people from the freeway pile up!
But like Alex, strange coincidences begin to happen, and deaths start to occur, and it will be up to A.J., Clear and the rest of her friends to figure out what is going on, before death can take them as well!
Now I like this film…. There is not much bad I can say about it… The only difference I would have made about this film, is that I maybe would have had Devon Sawa come back for a cameo…
Otherwise, the only other thing I would say about this film… Is that while the first one was great, this movie was sort of the Saturday afternoon sitting on the couch with nothing else to do version of that!
It is worth a watch though, and if you haven’t seen it yet, then I highly recommend checking it out!
