Five Awesome Horror Movies Based On True Crime Events/Inspired By True Crime Horror Events!

Alot of horror movies are based on, or inspired by serial killers.

So one of the things that writers some times tend to do when it comes to horror movies, is they will take brutal true crime horror events, and then either make movies about those killers, or they will make movies inspired by those murderers!

And where as I think the original act is truly horrible… (As I am sure we can all agree,) as a horror movie fan, I find the movies that were either inspired by, or directly made based on what happened to be rather enjoyable.

And so if you are looking for a new horror movie to get in to, I hope you will enjoy these 5 awesome horror movies based on true crime events/inspirated by true crime horror events!

This movie is based on the murders committed by serial killer: Jeffrey Dahmer.

4: Psycho (1960):

This movie by Alfred Hitchcock is based on the novel by Robert Bloch, who based his story on the crimes that had been committed by Ed Gein in the 1950s

The crimes Ed Gein committed are the inspiration for, ‘Norman Bates’ and the Psycho series of books and horror movies!

3: Ted Bundy (2002):

This movie is based on the crimes committed by Ted Bundy.

2: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974):

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was also atleast partly inspired by the crimes of Ed Gein.

Ed Gein was atleast partly the inspiration for, ‘Leatherface’ from: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre!

This movie is about the life and crimes of Ed Gein.
