Enjoying Horror & Science Fiction At It’s Best!

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) – Science Fiction Movie Review

A great film!

Ok so, one of the things that I got to do at a fairly young age is that I got in to the grittier side of movies… I have been watching horror/science fiction and action movies since before I hit the double digits!

It has given me a love afair with cinema of almost all shapes and sizes for my entire life, and a career in the industry that to this day I still really love!

The reason I mention this is because the first Jurassic Park movie was one of those first science fiction movies that I got to see in the theater on my own, and absolutely loved it and still do!

And you know what? Even though, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) is in no way at the level that, that movie was, it was still truly amazing!

Written by: Derek Connolly (Jurassic World), Colin Trevorrow (Intelligent Life) & Directed by: J.A. Bayona (The Orphanage). Starring: Chris Pratt (Avengers: Endgame), Bryce Dallas Howard (Rocketman), Ted Levine (Silence Of The Lambs), Jeff Goldblum (The Fly), BD Wong (Gotham), James Cromwell (Star Trek: First Contact) & Isabella Sermon.

How many times do you have to see the evidence? How many times must the point be made? We’re causing our own extinction. Too many red lines have been crossed. And our home has, in fundamental ways, been polluted by avarice and political megalomania. Genetic power has now been unleashed and of course, that’s going to be catastrophic. This change was inevitable from the moment we brought the first dinosaur back from extinction. We convince ourselves that sudden change is something that happens outside the normal order of things, like a car crash, or that it’s beyond our control, like a fatal illness. We don’t conceive of sudden, radical, irrational change as woven into the very fabric of existence. Yet, I can assure you, it most assuredly is. And it’s happening now. Humans and dinosaurs are now gonna be force to coexist. These creatures were here before us. And if we’re not careful, they’re gonna be here after. We’re gonna have to adjust to new threat that we can’t imagine. We’ve entered a new era. Welcome to Jurassic World. – Dr. Ian Malcolm (A quote by Jeff Goldblum from the movie, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018).)

So this is kind of the truly awesome tale of what happened after the fall of a second attempted park… And the greed that comes with it!

Owen finds one of his Raptor buddies after 3 years!

You see three years after the Jurassic World theme park was closed down, Owen (Played by: Chris Pratt) and Claire (Played by: Bryce Dallas Howard), return to Isla Nublar to save the dinosaurs when they learn that a once dormant volcano on the island is active and is threatening to extinguish all life there. Along the way, Owen sets out to find Blue, his lead raptor, and discovers a conspiracy that could disrupt the natural order of the entire planet. Life has found a way, again.

Let’s just put it this way, the first half of the movie really is pretty awesome! A bunch of thrills and chills as we get to see what happened to the Island after the evacuation, and the reactions of Claire and Owen while they have set foot on the island for the first time fresh in years.

But the second half… Well, let’s just put it this way, modern CGI and the acting were all good, but in truth… the later half is kind of remarkably stupid… At least I thought!

Should have just stayed on the island!

Check it out… The movie is worth watching… But start from, ‘Jurassic Park’ and go from there, you will see that while this movie is not very wow factor… But the rest of the series is!
