Hell In Space

Enjoying Horror & Science Fiction At It’s Best!

The Faculty (1998) – Horror/Sci-Fi Movie Review

In this school, it looks like class is dismissed!

So in the 1980s something sort of really awesome happened! You see there was a golden age of horror and science fiction that really started around ‘78… And lasted till about 1999!

Some great horror movies and science fiction movies that came out during this time are:

  1. Halloween (1978).
  2. Alien (1979).
  3. The Prowler (1980).
  4. The Terminator (1984).
  5. Hellraiser (1986).
  6. Predator (1987).

And so much more! And one of the finals movies that came out in this area was the movie: The Faculty (1998)!

Written by: Kevin Williamson (Scream) & Directed by: Robert Rodriguez (El Mariachi). Starring: Jordana Brewster (Fast & Furious), Clea Duvall (Mission To Mars), Laura Harris (Hulk & The Agents Of S.M.A.S.H.), Josh Hartnett (Halloween: H20), Shawn Hatosy (Alpha Dog) & Elijah Wood (The Goodson).

“I’m about to take my chances. I leave for five minutes, and when I come back everyone’s a fucking alien. Now, if I have to Men In Black your ass, you’re gonna fucking take it!” – Zeke (A quote by: Josh Hartnett from the movie: The Faculty (1998).)

Herrington High, Ohio, a small-town highschool. All of a sudden, the teachers start changing attitude.

These aren’t your normal teachers!

When Casey (played by: Elijah Wood) and Delilah (played by: Jordana Brewster) have to hide in a closet in the teacher’s lounge, they witness the strangulation of Nurse Harper (played by: Salma Hayek) by two of them.

Shocked, they manage to flee. Only moments later, the nurse seems to be very alive, but also somehow changed, like all the teachers and most of the students. Only Casey, Delilah and four others seem to be suspicious.

Proof of an alien infection is finally brought by the chemistry teacher, who also points out a way to kill the infected humans. The plan now is to get the queen, before the aliens can spread out over the whole country.

This isn’t your normal school!

In my opinion this movie was the last truly great science fiction movie of the 1990s! It had a great cast, a great story and better special effects! And honestly, just about everything that Robert Rodriguez is absolutely amazing!

I really cannot say anything wrong about this film! Check it out, i really think you are going to like it!
